This Week: Small Achievements, Presents and Friendship

on

This week for me has been a bit of a marathon, trying to cover a lot of ground in a short space of time, so Jesus’ words ‘don’t worry about tomorrow, for today has enough cares of its own‘ have proved very, very good advice. And sometimes I’ve needed to stretch it and tell myself ‘don’t worry about this afternoon, for this morning has enough cares of its own‘… Dealing with one task at a time has certainly made things simpler, and small things like managing to do the washing up and completing a presentation have felt like little achievements in themselves 🙂

It’s been my last full week at work this week, which has meant lots of sweet cards and gifts from all the children I work with. I love children’s gifts! Lots of handmade cards and loom bracelets have been the order of the day. Children share their appreciation with such sincerity and simplicity, and with such a sense of fun! I think we could all learn a great deal from them 🙂

I’ve also had some nice surprise gifts this week from Andrew (a colourful bunch of tulips) and my lovely friend Kate, who, as part of our moving present, gave us a tub of Retro Sweets, which have been much appreciated by everyone in the house!

The best thing about having a ‘last week’ in an area is that it reminds you to appreciate all your friendships. I am so thankful for all the friends I’ve made in all the different places I’ve lived so far… they have really ‘filled up’ my heart this week!

I have a feeling that my next post may be written from my new home… so see you in a week or so!
