Ode to Autumn

Every summer I say ‘Summer is my favourite season’ and every Autumn I change my mind.

I love the colours and textures of Autumn, the crisp, cold walks and fire-warmed rooms, the breezy winds that makes you feel like something exciting is about to happen, the feel of leaves underfoot, all of that.

As a school employee, I love October half term and the chance to pad about the house, drink coffee and have a good sort out before the Christmas season starts.

I love watching the rain through the window then going out for a walk when it stops. I love the way the sun catches the raindrops and makes them sparkle.

I love the flavours of Autumn too – squash and red cabbage and nuts and apple pie and hot chocolate.

This week I’m soaking in all the season has to offer, with tasty home-cooked food, good books, and plenty of time outside.

What are you up to this Autumn?
