Small Things

on

Having school holidays makes me appreciate my job even more, and this is my first of two weeks off for the Easter break. If I’m honest, I’m miffed the weather is not better, but I am having a great time and there is a lot to be thankful for!

This week’s Small Things include…

*Daffodils on the table, and tulips on the window sill.

*Catching up with family and friends.

*Meals out: There’s a good dog walking beach near me with a nice pub that does an excellent omelette and chips 🙂

*My first run in about 3 or 4 years!

*Reading: I recently finished a book by my Great Great Uncle, R F Delderfield. It’s the first book in a two part series called ‘To Serve them all my Days‘, this book being titled Late Spring. It’s a thoughtfully written, very human book, with strong themes about war and love. I can’t wait to get hold of the second one! I’ve also been reading about the life of Catherine the Great, and have to keep reminding myself it is an actual history book and not a novel.

*Gifts: I’ve been given lots of lovely gifts lately! My friend Kate gave me my birthday presents the other day, and my friend Karina ordered me the last Harry Potter book as she knew I hadn’t read it 🙂

*Getting ready for Easter. I’m not sure what we’ll be doing but it’s one of my favourite times of year so there will be celebrating of some kind!

*Walking by the river.

*Having time to be creative – writing, making jewellery and baking.
