Ah, May. The month of Bank Holidays! This month for me has been all about enjoying the weather and being outside as much as possible, gathering ideas and plans for my new business, which I’m really excited about, and enjoying the second to last month of my time in my current job. This week, my Small Things post takes the form of some Sights, Sounds, Tastes, Scents and Escapes that have made me glad recently 🙂
SIGHTS…
*Summer in a snapshot:
*Nature inside and out:
*The sea 🙂
SOUNDS –
*Andrew playing his guitar
*Birds outside the window
*Jo’s new Frank Sinatra CD
*Paolo Nutini at the Radio 1 Big weekend on BBC 3 – so summery with lots of backing singers, saxophones and swingy rhythms 🙂
TASTES –
*Apple crumble and ice cream
*Seaside fish and chips
*Andrew’s lemon polenta cake
SCENTS –
*The smell of the sea
*Fresh coffee – I always start the day with two cups when I have time and I love this little ritual. I feel so lucky to be able to sit by our big window to drink it, looking out on the garden in all its summery colour.
ESCAPES –
*We watched the film Unconditional which is beautifully shot, with a story that is at times painfully sad, but so inspiring.
*Watching some of the Radio 1 Big Weekend performances, as mentioned above.
*More walking in the fields and woods, noticing all the flowers and greenery and watching Jamie chase madly after his ball.
*Creating prayer spaces with some of the children in my groups – more on that in a separate post.
What have you been enjoying this Bank holiday?
